The AC Minerals technology responds to an increasing demand in several industries for sustainable and carbon-neutral materials. From 2027 onwards the technology can be applied on an industrial scale and rolled out internationally.
At the moment there is no other treatment process that is really viable.
Asbeter is planning to start building its first plant in 2026, operating in 2027 the first line for processing 25,000 tonnes asbestos cement. We will be fully operational in 2028, processing in the Netherlands 75.000 tons of asbestos cement per year. The project will have positive cashflow from the start and with an anticipated payback of <4 years it is an attractive business case for >25 years.
