AC Minerals technology

Our vision is to become a reference and a market leader in safe, environmentally friendly and cost-effective asbestos destruction in a circular way, recovering 100% of the materials as reactive calcium silicates, while making a profit for shareholders. We will prove the scalability of this technology from 2027 onwards in the world's first demonstration plant at industrial scale. 

In 2022, Asbeter filed the patent application PCT/EP2022/060577 for the breakthrough with its AC Minerals technology.
This patent is based on the invention to create an alkaline environment without the addition of chemicals in which the asbestos fibers are guided to complete denaturation. The novelty search was very positive and in 2024 the patent was finally filed for Europe and Australia.

In April 2023, the verification of Asbeter's AC Minerals process was successfully completed by the independent agency DNV, Det Norske Veritas. The verification confirms that Asbeter's process results in a safe calcium silicate end product. asbestos treatment on the market that completely removes all asbestos fibers.

The next milestone was in June 2023: Asbeter received the official End-of-waste declaration for its Calcium Silicate Hydrate (CSH) end products from the Environmental Protection Agency DCMR.

In 2024, Asbeter's AC Minerals team expanded its process route for the production of high-quality reactive Calcium Silicates, as a replacement for CO2-rich clinker in cement. MACMA is the product name of these mineral Calcium Silicates.
