In 2027, the operation of Asbeter's AC Minerals Plant will start, which will supply at the start 19,000 tonnes of calcium silicate per year, going up to 57,000 tonnes. Offtakers are the construction industry for cement and concrete and the paints industry.
It will be the first industrial asbestos treatment plant in the world to bring several environmental problems together in one solution: no longer dumping of asbestos cement roofing sheets and tubes, but return clean raw materials CO2-neutrally to industrial sectors, which has the task of drastically reducing its CO2 emissions.
